What’s the point of the app?

It only tells me what I already know.

Impressed by the value of the product. Had similar toothbrush previously at a higher cost. Unfortunately not impressed with the delivery service which nearly ruined the good. Dispute my delivery notification informing me that the product had been handed to a resident, it was actually left on the doorstep in the pouring rain as no one was home. The product was in a cardboard box which was saturated by the time someone arrived home and the manufactures packaging and paperwork inside was extremely damp and water damaged. Luckily the actual toothbrush and accessories were salvageable and I have decided to keep them as I don’t want the hassle of getting a replacement. There are plenty of places that deliver drivers use to leave packages when it is wet but this driver left electrical goods in cardboard packaging out in the wet+ not very professional

My first sonic toothbrush was purchased from QVC 20 years ago. It lasted 6 years. Tried to buy another but the British company that made it had vanished into the ether. I’ve tried several other sonic brushes since then including a few Philips ones but nothing has ever emulated my original for its ability to thoroughly clean my teeth, until now.
Philips Sonicare 7900 with its so called, advanced sonic technology, is brilliant. If I didn’t know any different I’d swear it was my 20 year old brush that had come back to life. There’s no way I could justify paying £250 for a toothbrush with 4 heads and all the charging paraphernailia, so I was ecstatic when it was reduced to below £100
That being said, I wouldn’t have been disappointed with the toothbrushes performance, had I been able to pay full price.
I’m old school, so the thought of an app for a toothbrush makes my blood boil and eyes roll. It’s undoubtedly the real reason for the rediculously high rrp.
The bathroom is no place for a mobile phone.
I registered the toothbrush immediately and got an extra year added onto the 2 year warranty that came as standard. I’m hoping the 7900 lasts at least 5 years and doesn’t give up the ghost a few weeks after the warranty expires, like the brushes I’ve purchased during the last 14 years.
If you can afford it, buy one.

I bought it to help with my gum issues and it did the job even on whitening brush heads. There are couple of other standard programs and each has some unike features, generally time and patterns for brush wibrations. On top of that there are 3 levels of intensity for each program.
Downsides are expensive brush heads and old micro USB port on travel case.

Bluetooth adds som functionality it is telling how many uses of the brush left and has simplified guide which can be used while brushing. There is vibration feedback when to change secion of brushing and if brush is pressed to hard against gums so after couple of use app can be used to check when to change brush.
Overall I am pleased with it and I would recommend it to a friend ????

This is my fourth (or fifth?) Philips Sonicare toothbrush. They are very good initially, but I’ve found they tend to “die” shortly after the expiry of the warranty. My dentist and dental hygienist both complement me on my dental care, so I persevere with purchasing replacement Sonicare brushes! This one seemed a fair balance between the very expensive and the basic models

Philips toothbrush is good compared to other brands. I can feel my teeth are so clean after each brush.

However, make sure the toothbrush is dry after each use, or the lights will keep turning on and the battery drains so fast.

I don’t like the pressure sensor as well because it just keeps telling me I brush it too hard but i was just holding the brush without using any force and I can’t turn this function off 🙁

Other than that, it is a good brush and hopefully mine do not break in a year like other people have commented. However, My partner’s been using hers for 3 years and still counting.

Update: the light keeps turning on even after i dry the toothbrush. I fully charged it for 12 hours and its just out of battery in 2 days. Would contact CS and see what happens.

Solution found: just disconnect the bluetooth because toothbrush itself keeps trying to connect to bluetooth and it is why the lights are always on and drain the battery. The toothbrush is better without the app.

    Hope it helps someone:)

I’ve had Sonicare toothbrushes for years now and always liked them. Recently however I had the 3100 model that broke after around a year and a half.

I decided to upgrade because the 3100 didn’t give me a super clean feel and was hoping the toothbrush itself would be an upgrade rather than just getting a fancy case and and an app. Thankfully the toothbrush itself is much better, my teeth feel way cleaner than when using the lower model. The app and extra things are nice, but I wouldn’t buy this toothbrush for those things, I’d buy it because it cleans better than lower models

I have had a Sonicare toothbrush for many years and it finally gave up. I replaced it with this version when it was on offer and I have been impressed with it.

It feels more powerful than my previous brush and advises when pushing too hard. It automatically detects which brush head you are using and uses the appropriate mode for it.

I thought the app was a bit of a gimmick, although I actually really like it, and I definitely feel this brush us improved my technique. I enjoy the timer and the count of how often I brush. It also tells you when to replace the brush head. It came with four heads which should last around a year.

Also the case doubles up as a charger and uses USBC which is a nice touch.
