This smells quite nice, more of an artificial fragrance that reminded me of hair salon products.
The ingredients are OK if following the curly girl method but either I couldn’t see or couldn’t tell from the ingredients list if it did contain any form of protein. My hair needs protein as it’s very porous.
The overall condition after using this was fairly good (though my hair was in good condition already) though it didn’t reduce the frizz on the top of my head much which normally reduces with products that contain enough protein. I was also left with a lot more volume than usual which isn’t such a good thing when you already have big hair.
Overall not bad, it moisturises, but without the ability to reduce a major patch of frizz for me I probably wouldn’t buy it. I can imagine that it would work quite well for low porosity and low density hair types.

Initially I was disappointed with this Revlon Professional RE/START Curls Deep Nourising Buttery Hair Mask as I was expecting it to feel like conditioner but it felt really watery when spread on hair. My hair also felt a bit plasticky and dull when it was rinsed. However, when I dried my hair it felt a lot softer than usual. I also use hair straighteners after drying my hair, but it felt the same. I’ve now used this Hair Mask several times and my hair definitely feels softer than before!
Still not keen on the watery feel but the final result says it all. Happy with it overall.

Tonight, I have used the deep nourishing buttery mask. The mask is silicone free and easy to apply. It didn’t leave my hair feeling greasy which some masks can do. The smell is very mild and is not like my normal mask which is coconut or banana, It is a very natural fresh scent.
Reading the directions, you apply the mask thoroughly from mids to ends and allow 3-5 minutes before your rinse out. I would say it was more like a deep conditioner than a mask though due to the consistency.
I feel the difference after the first use. It leaves my hair feeling very moisturized and frizz free. I used this product after the clarifier from the same range and they worked well together.
The product is a little more pricey than I like at £15.90 at the time of purchase however, I think that it is a premium product.

I will admit that I slightly misunderstood which hair type this product is aimed at. I have naturally wavy hair, but it sits in the bracket of 2ABC rather than the 3ABC or 4A which are the categories highlighted on the back of the tub. However, having said that, the mask was still lovely to use and is silicone free which is what I wanted. This moisture treatment helps control frizz and helps defined my wavy hair a bit more whilst making it quite silky.
The hair mask arrived well presented in a 250ml tub. The mask is very easy to apply and is infused with jojoba oil and shea butter for a deeply nourishing experience. I applied the hair mask onto my hair as per the instructions and left it on for about 10 minutes before rinsing my hair thoroughly. It definitely made it easier to detangle my hair after the washing stage and it washed out well. It hasn’t irritated my scalp / skin and I also love the fact it is a vegan formula. The cream has a thick consistency more akin to body butter than a hair mask, is white in colour and has quite a lovely smell
Priced at £15.11 at the time of reviewing the product – this does seem very expensive to me and I’m not sure that I would repurchase at this price, but the product was very enjoyable to use.

I have used this as a quick 3 minute mask/moisturiser and detangled my hair in the shower with it. It works well at giving good moisture to your curls without weighing them down.
It is scentless as far as I can tell and it is a bit joyless to use. It is not cheap, so when I splurge on hair product, I want to love it. It’s nice, it does the job well, but I haven’t fallen in love with it. Does that make sense? I think the curly haired among us will know what I’m talking about.

I have naturally wavy hair but after 30 years of having highlights, its become quite frizzy and needs lots of TLC. I used the hair mask after washing with a clarifying shampoo and when I blow dried it, it left my hair feeling really soft and silky.
The you really don’t need to use much so the tub should last quite a while.
Overall, I’m pleased I ordered this – I also have the leave in conditioner that worked equally as well. I would definitely recommend.

A rich and buttery conditioner. Compares well to my usual kerastase deep conditioning treatment. I have fine curly hair so avoided the roots.

I used this on my 4c/4b hair and I had no problems with it. I left it in for just under 10 minutes. It did feel a bit rough after the shower however once I blew dry my hair my hair seemed alright.
I didn’t notice much of a difference.
I did however do a test patch on my skin. The part on the inside of the elbow where it bends. I rubbed it in just to see how my skin would react and that patch of skin has been sore ever since eventhough I washed it off.
So I recommend you do not let this sit on any part of your skin for too long.
