Definitely the best primer I’ve tried yet – will buy again!

My Elizabeth Arden Primer changed their formula. It’s not as good now so thought I’d try this Max Factor one. I have combination skin so get a bit of a greasy T-zone after a while. As soon as it went on my skin it sunk in and I had a hard job to blend it in. Not sure if my liquid foundation was incompatible but to try and blend that onto my face was a complete nightmare. The Primer was so dry on my skin I felt like I was dragging the foundation and my skin around. Really surprised how bad it was, especially after so many good reviews.

I don’t tend to use primers, as I use foundation every day I just tend to moisturise and then go straight in with foundation.
I thought I would give this a go and I’ve been pleasantly surprised. It initially seemed quite runny but a small amount goes a long way and this gave me a lovely soft and smooth base for my foundation. It makes my pores look a lot better and surprisingly makes the foundation last longer.

Makes my face smooth and gives a velvety feel before applying my foundation and I can definitely see a difference between when I use this primer and not. Haven’t come across any problems with this primer so far. Very lightweight and covers up my pores perfectly.

This 30ml bottle of primer by Max Factor comes in a simple but nicely branded black and gold squeeze tube. This universal primer is ideal for creating a matte base before applying makeup and minimising the appearance of pores. The primer is thinner than expected in terms of consistency and is white in colour.
I found the primer easy to apply after finishing my skincare routine. Apply a small amount lightly across your face and allow to absorb fully before the next step. I did think that since the primer is quite thin in order to achieve a more flawless complexion a secondary layer worked best, as the coverage is very light. On the other hand, I thought that the primer absorbed into my skin well and created a soft smooth base which felt very lightweight. The formula isn’t greasy and blends well.
The primer also contains skincare ingredients including antioxidants and vitamin E to help with the health of your skin and reduce any inflammation. It is ideal for sensitive skin and is both vegan and cruelty free which is a positive. The primer doesn’t dry out my skin and keeps it hydrated whilst I apply the rest of my make up. I’ve found that the primer does keep my foundation in place longer and it suits my pale skin tone well.
Priced at £10.99 as a one-off purchase or £10.44 if you sign up to Amazon’s subscribe and save scheme at the time of reviewing, this is a nice primer with the added benefit of skincare ingredients. I think combining make up with skincare is the way forwards and although it does require more product than expected to gain the more ‘flawless’ look, I’ve still enjoyed using this product so would be happy to recommend.

I was using different primer from the same brand, which was great. Decieded to try this one and I must say, it makes my skin more oily. After just one hour, its all shiny, foundation is separating and it looks terrible.

Bought due to the brand l have other cosmetic products from them l found this primer to be light but not silky which is what l wanted that said it does its job for the price not sure l would buy again. Gave four stars due to price and coverage .
