the product is good, but the seller is dishonest and only delivered two of the three items I ordered and will not allow me to complain.

People are commenting on the shape of the applicator but it’s fine for me (maybe because my lips are big?)

This is the best thing ever. Not only is it cheaper on Amazon compared to Superdrug/Boots, it lasts so long. I’ve had a tube since December and it’s still going strong!

Due to change of weather & various cold & flu bugs doing the rounds my lips have become very chapped, split in several places & extremely sore & painful when trying to speak, eat & drink…. Smiling has been out of the question 😭.
I have been using a well known brand (beginning with V) several times a day, however after the initial softening the pain & dryness returns within the hour & lips start to bleed, dry out & clot 😭.
I received O’Keeffe’s lip repair this morning (next day delivery) & after just a few applications my lips already feel far less painful, moisturised & are not cracking further when I eat or smile 🙂.
I was a little shocked how small the product was when it arrived due to the price, however don’t be put off by this.
This little gem definitely punches well above it’s rivals in quality vs quantity 👌.
    On a scale of 1-10 I rate this a 12+ 🙂
    Happy Smiles 😃

I’ve been a Vaseline user for decades having had dry peeling lips since I was a teen. Problem with Vaseline is although it moisturises well, it doesn’t really cure the peeling lips, so whenever I put on lipstick, those peeling bits of skin look pretty obvious. I’ve tried scuffing them with lip scrub before lipstick application, but it doesn’t get rid of all the peeling lip skins and new bits of peeling skin keep regenerating. It was a struggle, especially for a girl who loves lipstick, especially matte ones.

I’m so glad I decided to try this as I’ve tried all sorts of low end and high end stuff for my lips with little avail. This stuff’s the bomb. It got rid of most of my dry peeling lips without even needing to use the lip scrub. The added bonus is that it isn’t like a typical lip balm or Vaseline which gives a glossy/oily/shiny appearance. Hence, it’s a perfect base for all my matte lipsticks as it keeps my lips moisturised for ages even under drying matte lipstick, without changing the appearance of the lipstick itself – so my lipsticks stay looking matte all day! If you put a glossy or creamy satin lipstick on top of this, then the lipstick will look glossy or satin. Basically this lip balm will not alter the texture and appearance of any lipsticks you put on top of it, yet does a really good job of moisturising your lips until your next meal/hot drink. If you only drink cold drinks, then it’s unlikely to affect the longevity of this product because it certainly can withstand drinks.

Does take getting used to though, because I’m so used to using oilier lip balms. When I use this, I do feel like there is a coating on my lips all the time, but it’s not oily/slick/shiny, it’s more of a tacky feel. It does survive a meal/hot drinks but not that much. I mean, if you do eat/drink hot or oily foods with this on, you may feel the need to reapply more about 1 or 2 hours afterwards. But it’s so cheap and lasts for ages. I have been using it day and night and haven’t even used up the 2mm of product I had twisted up and left up (didn’t feel like screwing it back down, and the cap is tall enough not to touch the product even if I left it like this). I maybe reapply it 3 times a day. At night, I use it just before bed. I used to use Vaseline before bed and I’ve now ditched the Vaseline because this is so much better. Does a far better job at keeping chapped, peeling lips at bay, and also is not oily/slick like Vaseline so doesn’t make my hair stick like mad to my lips when I put it on.

I’m going to keep repurchasing this and tell everyone I know about it. What a find! I haven’t noticed this product sold in typical high street UK shops so have never really thought of trying it all these years. Apparently some shops do sell it, but from the packaging design, I must admit it’s not really appealing to the right audience – those who are concerned with beauty and aesthetics. I must say, I only discovered this on Amazon, and after checking the ingredients list with a list of recommended non-allergenic lip ingredients from some health/dermatology website, I realised this product, unlike most other ones out there, has a number of the recommended ingredients but none of the nasties, so gave it a go. Well I’m so glad I did!

I’m probably not the best candidate to use this product as I don’t generally suffer from cracked lips or at least naturally through weather changes, but what I will say is after wearing masks daily for almost two years, it’s taking its toll on them where they have become dehydrated when wearing them for upwards an 3 hours each time daily, not causing pain either but generally and noticeably feeling tight, particularly at the sides and cupid’s bow.

Having tried Burt’s Bees, which seems to sit only on the lips and doesn’t do much in absorbing or moisturising and applying it constantly every few hours became tedious though I like some of their products, just not that.
I’m not sure If anyone is aware of or has had “Invisalign”, a series of removable aligners. After treatment, I need to wear a removable clear retainer nightly to maintain achieved results. I have the most issues at this time as my teeth and gums don’t touch the gums when wearing this, ultimately drying the outer lips the most, even after a short period. I came across this purely as it had one of the best reviews out of numerous others. I wasn’t aware O’Keeffe done lip balms, but I have tried their working hands cream, which is hands down (pun intended) the best hand moisturiser I’ve used to date. Back to the lip balm, here are my thoughts.

    Pro:
    _____
    * It does what it claims to do. Within 5-10 minutes is when I began to see the results or feel any benefit granted, not “immediately”, but 5-10 minutes is better than ineffective.

    * The twist mechanism works well and hasn’t shown any issues of malfunctioning.

    * The blam doesn’t feel oily or leave a sheen; as a male, I don’t want to look like I’m wearing shiny lip gloss; it becomes matte after a few minutes; it’s undetectable.

    * It doesn’t feel heavy and as though it’s just sitting on the lips, creating a barrier. I have put on more than necessary to test; within 5-10 minutes, it seemed as though it was mostly absorbed. That said, for the first few minutes, it does have a tackiness.

    * When most brands state “unscented”, they usually still are. From what I can smell is virtually nothing and lives up to its claim.

    Con
    _____
    * It’s not your typical style container. It’s oddly oval-shaped. I have noticed it dips in the centre. It helps if you use the corners to level it back into shape, but this is only temporarily. It’s awkward to use, particularly at the sides of the lips, as it won’t fit without turning the container horizontally at odd angles and the lips themselves, which is bound to be painful if there is already discomfort. Even doing so, it doesn’t sit correctly and becomes concave. If this is mostly your concern area, then sadly, I’d say stick with the tried and tested conventional style.

    * I need to reapply multiple times throughout the day as single-use isn’t that effective. Once in the morning, afternoon and evening before wearing my aligners. So it’s not a ONCE application miracle. Therefore the statement in my case isn’t “All day moisture in one use”, isn’t factually correct as the packaging made out to be.

    Conclusion
    _____
Overall, is it worth all the hype? I’m unsure of a specific answer. It has good points, but equally negative points. Does it work? In my opinion, it does, at least for me. Is it worth the usual price without the offer? I’d disagree with that, but thankfully, the best place to purchase is Amazon if you want a bargain, as it’s cheaper. While it’s good, taking the negatives aside, you can get generic balms for a few pounds that function just as well and in a standard styled container that doesn’t require awkward angles to keep the shape uniform. As gritty as Burts can initially be, it reaches the sides effortlessly; but this balm it’s certainly not a patch on other O’Keefe’s products that I am sure of, and I swear by as they are genuinely fantastic. I can’t see myself repurchasing unless the container is changed (which seems extremely unlikely) as it’s not worth the hassle to use, trying to keep the balm in uniform as much as possible. If the case were standard shaped, this would vastly improve user-friendliness.
