I’m glad I purchased this. I did try one a few years back but gave up with it as I was a bit squeamish about inserting it/taking it out and thought it was a bit arduous but I’m glad I bought this & gave it another go and I much prefer this one. I love that this is organic and I feel like I’m doing something good for my body when I’m using it, no more irritation down there or smell. I sometimes can’t believe I even used tampons and pads for so long. I also love the little bag it comes in, it’s really handy – it’s all natural too. The packaging it comes in is very eco friendly too and contains all the info you need to use it and some about the company.

The cup itself seems very sturdy and durable without being uncomfortable to use.

If you’re new to menstrual cups and are undecided I’ll put a bit more detail that may help you. Putting this in will take some getting used to but I found after the third time of doing it I had it down, it will take some practice if you’re used to pads and/or tampons. The practicality and benefit to your vaginal health far outweigh any negatives of using this cup. I just do the C fold squeeze as I find it the easiest, it just comes naturally.. then I insert it at an angle, you will sort of naturally know which way to insert it for your body. The key is to relax, easier said than done but try to take a few deep breaths and relax your muscles. Once the angled side of the folded lip of the cup is in the rest will naturally follow and you can just gently push it in and you will feel it has opened up and is in place, sometimes you’ll hear a kind of suction, other times not. You’ll get to know when it’s in properly but if you’re unsure and want to check, just feel for the base and you’ll feel you can sort of squeeze it and feel the roundness of it and that it has opened up. The first time using it you may doubt that you’ve put it in correctly but it just opens up and settles naturally, don’t overthink it too much. If you’re having any trouble inserting it, I recommend using some Coconut oil on it (I use the Lucy Bee Extra Virgin Organic Raw brand) I find Coconut oil good to use as a moisturiser down there and it can be used as lube so as long as you’re not sensitive/allergic to it, I highly recommend it. Be careful though as it can make the cup super slippy and prone to flying out of your fingers. (I found this out the hard way 🤦‍♀️😭).

Once it is in, you don’t have to worry all day & you don’t get that yucky feeling after a while like you do with tampons and especially pads. You can leave it in for considerably longer (12 hours!!) as well so you can just go about your day, it’s great. You’ll need to set aside a couple more minutes in the morning or whenever you’re putting it in than your would with a pad or tampon, but it gets easier & quicker each time you do it & the more you get used to it. Once it’s in, no more having to go to the toilet and change anything and I have only had a problem with leakage once when I had a really heavy flow day. How often you’ll need to change this will depend on your flow. But for me most of the time I keep it in for the full 12 hours which is so helpful especially if you have a busy day or are feeling like having a lazy day. I have noticed if I go for a wee & wipe I do see a slight bit of blood on the tissue but it’s no amount that is of any concern. In fact, if it wasn’t for cramps I could totally forget I was even on my period with this.

Taking it out will also take some getting used to, you have to get the hang of it but there is a knack to it. I didn’t trim the stem & I’m glad I didn’t as I find it sits quite high up inside me so I would recommend trying it out before you decide to snip it. I locate the stem with my fingers and gently pull on it until I can feel the base of the cup. Sometimes I use both hands; one to pull the stem then one to squeeze the base so I can pull it out as your body will naturally keep it pretty suctioned in there. It can help to use your vaginal muscles to push it out, this makes it so much easier to get to & remove. Do this gently to avoid spills, it will take a few times to get used to the sensation of the lip part being pulled out as it is obviously considerably bigger than a tampon but once you get used to this it’s fine. Again I kind of pull this out gently at an angle and wiggle it out slowly.

Once it’s out I recommend carrying some baby wipes and/or a bottle of water to rinse it if you’re out and about. There is obviously a bit more prep that goes into using this, for example making sure your hands are really clean as they’re going inside you which obviously doesn’t happen with most tampons and pads & the taking out and rinsing part can get a little bit messy and may make some people who are squeamish a bit uncomfortable but you’ll get over that. And I promise the benefits will outweigh this. You can go all day without the annoying task of changing and disposing of pads and tampons, you’re reducing waste and doing something great for your health and peace of mind.

All in all I’m so happy I bought this, it has made my period so much less of a hassle and I highly recommend it.

It doesn’t fit quite as well as my femmecup did, which unfortunately seems to be disconinued, but it’s an excellent cup and holds a good amount of liquid. Medium firmness, which is a bit too soft for me at times as I have leaks if I squat a lot during the day, but other than that I can’t feel it. Would definitely recommend it!

I’m a swimming teacher and I always struggled with being in the water during my period. I wore tapax for a while, but it was just getting in the water and it was already soaked. With the cup my life is other now! I don’t feel them and I can stay hours in the pool with no leak at all!!
I’m not gonna lie that I didn’t struggle to get it right with the insertion, but once it’s inside you can just live without worry! You’re ready and free to go for your yoga, swimming, sitting with your legs wide open, waking up safe and clean, etc. JUST AMAZING!! Really life saver for me

I was originally hesitant to change from tampons to a menstrual cup as I didn’t know the process and thought it would be hard/inconvenient to do.

I couldn’t be more wrong – this brand especially has worked really well for me. Easy to remove when you use the proper technique, and I find it has lasted so well. Don’t notice it when it’s in and is super convenient as it holds more than a tampon or pad and doesn’t leave any sort of smell.

If there’s one thing I would recommend to people who menstruate – its to change to a cup – and this is my brand of choice.

Really happy with this cup and how it works, after wanting to make the move from tampons for a while now. Super easy to clean, insert and remove. Have worn for heavy training at the gym, running and everyday life and no leaks. Only thing I’d suggest is that the removal tab be a little bit shorter.

Love this product! Honestly wish I’d tried it sooner as it’s so much easier than tampons and safer, plus better for the planet. You can also can keep in for much longer!! Feel cleaner using this too… it’s so handy , comes in a cute little bag and easy to use (once you master how to put it in and out). Taking out can be tricky as you’re only holding on to the wee grippy bit, but again you get the hang of it after the first or second time. I would highly recommend!

The only downside compared to tampons is it’s messier, I’ve only changed it in a normal bathroom with a sink but I can imagine it might be harder to change in a cubicle where you can’t rinse it out.. but you’d manage.. but also can be kept in for a long time so you may not need to change it in a public toilet.

I def think if you’re considering this product to just go for it, at least give it a try and see if it’s for you. I love it and have been recommending to everyone!

I have used organicup for almost 10 years and loved it. However, I’ve just had a baby so bought the post birth cup. I have spent the day in the worst pain imaginable. Yep, worse than giving birth. All day, on the floor crying, not able to look after my son & not able to pee. Got prescribed antibiotics for uti and then took mega doses of pain killers. Nothing helped. Decided to get a bath and took the cup out whilst on the loo and the wee came after hours of not being able to go. Got in the bath and felt good, got out and put the cup in and pain came back instantaneously but I didn’t make the connection till I took it out again to get in a second bath because the pain was so bad again and I COULD NOT PEE. I’ve had it out for a good couple of hours and felt fine. I have ordered another one that’s the same as pre birth. I had no idea this could happen. Hoping this saves someone the trauma I’ve been through today.

I can’t believe how easy it is to use. I was convinced it would be messy and tricky but felt I had to give it a go because of the environmental issues with using tampons. This is actually so so much better. I can leave it in all day/night without worrying about leaking. It took me a couple of goes to get used to it – but it’s dead easy to put in and take out. You just tip it away and rinse and pop it back it’s easy peasy! Even if there were no environmental issues I would chose this over tampons.
