an important thing to note is that i frequently bleach my hair. my roots were growing in, and i wanted to also bleach over some pink that was fading. it managed to get the pink out, and lightened my hair significantly! unfortunately if you’re looking to get the shade on the box on virgin hair, you’ll probably need more than one session and box, as you can see on my roots, which are obviously darker than the rest of my hair.

This colour is amazing and I’ve had lots of compliments about it, however the bad points:
1. It’s really messy to apply and stains quickly. So make sure you vaseline or lotion round all your face, ears and neck, basically anywhere you don’t want the dye to be! Wear something you’re not going to care is going to get ruined or a Cape of sorts. I couldn’t find my Cape so used a bin bag, this will make you hot! But hey needs must. I also stood on a towel. If you can get someone else to dye your hair then go for it, as will make it much less messy!
2. The colour will not run clear not matter how long you keep your head under the water to wash it out!
3. I’m about 8 hair washes down the line and the water still shows dye! So be warned you will be hosing your shower down after every hair wash so it doesn’t leave stains. I’ve also had it where I’ve flicked my hair back, it’s ended up on the ceiling…whoops! A bleach spray helps with this.
4. If you get hot and “glow” (aka.sweat) this colour will run! I’ve had a few tops with a nice pink colour round the collar, especially after the gym!
5. Again if you get the hair wet for one reason or another and lie on something, it will dye that too! I had got the base of my hair wet in the bath, led on my bed and left some nice pink patches there too!
Thankfully, so far it has washed out of everything it’s left its mark on!
So anyways if this doesn’t concern you too much, then go for it! I’ve still got a box left and will be using it. I used 2 for the initial hair Colouring. Also if you have previously dyed your hair and you have roots coming through which are lighter, these will obvs go lighter when you dye your hair, unless you’re better than me and leave your roots till last so not on the hair so long! But be warned could still end up lighter, but I like the difference.
Colour has lasted well despite how much seems to leave my hair and it catches the light amazingly! And diff lights create diff variations of the colour.

My husband and son have been calling me the black widow from the avenegers, not the spider!…think that’s a compliment!?!

I used to get my hair coloured at a salon to get back to my natural red shade that has sadly darkened with age, but finances are a pinch in the current economy and thought a bit of DIY was worth a go. Have only dyed my hair with a home kit once in the past and it didn’t turn out anything at all like the colour that was depicted on the box, so didn’t have high expectations with this one.
Am absolutely thrilled with how the colour turned out. I used 2 boxes as my hair is pretty long – though annoyingly did have half the dye leftover. The coverage is pretty even, love the different tones that it reflects in the light and surprised at how punchy the colour came out when my natural hair colour is getting to be a medium brown kinda shade at the roots (see before pic). This will definitely be my go to from now on. Hair also feels lovely and soft! Proper chuffed.

I have used this product 2 times since I took all of the previous dye out of my hair. I had used another LIVE colour + lift product and because my natural hair has ginger undertones the places where it lifted more than others were streaky once I took the dye out. I decided to use this to even my head with the ginger and it was one of the best things I’ve done to my hair since deciding to dye it. I absolutely love how my hair looks now, and because I’ve used it twice it is so bright and beautiful. I really recommend all LIVE products but especially their colour + lift collection if you really want results!

Really pretty hair colour, sadly didn’t last more than a couple of weeks before it faded, but that’s to be expected when it’s so subtle I suppose. I’ll still keep buying it as it looks great while it lasts.

Bought this to gradually bring my pillar box red hair back to something a bit calmer! Absolutely gorgeous colour on the bleached parts. Also really lovely on the new growth roots (dark brown), average on the greys.
Only criticism would be that there was only JUST enough in one box. My hair is only shoulder length and medium thickness so was surprised it only just covered it. Would get two boxes next time as it was an effort to squeak out the coverage.

I never usually write reviews but had to for this. I used to always dye my hair with the Live Bitter Sweet Chocolate as the box colour was what I wanted. But never got. I had to endure a few weeks of basically black hair before it faded back. Tempting chocolate however gave me the exact colour I wanted straight after dying it, basically gives the colour of bitter sweet chocolate if you are dying over dark brown hair (which I have). So if that’s what you’re looking for and have dark hair already buy this one instead! Conditioner smells lovely, no drips and my hair feels soft after (not it’s usual softness but not dry either) and is super shiny.
