Ok so this is the best lightener I have used, there was one by garnier I think that was pretty good too but I don’t think it’s being sold anymore. This does contain bleach which I wasn’t aware of I thought it was just a hair dye like garniers lightener that had other ingredients in it to lighten so bear that in mind. Like any hair product this is damaging to the hair, my hair wasn’t in great condition afterwards but it never is after colouring or lightening, I wouldn’t say this damaged my hair any more than what others have though, I used the L7 this time but have used the L9 before when trying to lighten from a darker colour and that damaged it alot more but if you are o only needing it once or twice you can feel treat it afterwards for a while and the hair does get better, my hair was damaged before hand so bear that in mind too, if you have pretty healthy hair once or twice using this won’t damage your hair permanently. I had to use twice over a period of two weeks as the first time it didn’t lift to yellow blonde it left me with orange roots (with the L7) I started with dark blonde. All of these lift my hair if lifted enough to a very yellow blonde though, using the blue shampoo that comes with it makes no difference to the yellow in my opinion but blue toner is usually used to counteract orange, so i used purple shampoo to try and counteract the yellow afterwards too with no joy, I have nailed it though if I need to use it in future so my advice would be once you have lifted it you should buy a hair dye to go on top of it, I put it on straight afterwards which isn’t wise but it worked, an ash blonde if blondes your goal would be best to counteract the brassiness or yellow. Overall this achieves what you need if you can’t afford to go to a hair dresser, I don’t think the L9 would lift the darkest of colours still though, it would lighten it considerably but if wanting a very light blonde you would probably have to using a colour stripper first which are actually really really good in my opinion, again not great for your hair but if your having a disaster and can’t afford the hairdressers its worth doing. Overall good product, hair didn’t feel great straight afterwards but it never does with any hair dye, I wouldn’t use it all the time though it’s much to strong for that, that would damage hair permanently, as a quick fix after a disaster though it does the job but I would do it twice so buy two boxes and make sure you have another hair dye at hand to put over the top, try not to do it straight away but if you have to, do it and then condition like crazy for a week or two

I like Schwartzkopf dyes generally and thought I’d try this one as it was new to me. It’s a great product, especially for a box dye. There is a protector serum in the box and the usual after colour conditioner plus another sachet of conditioner to use 3 weeks later. I thought that was a nice addition as I like the conditioner in the boxes usually. I have only given 4 stars though cause this isn’t anywhere near the colour on the box. It’s a nice colour, rich and good coverage but it is a lot darker than the guide suggests. A lot darker. Its supposed to be golden brown but as you can see it is more of a dark chocolate brown. My hair to start with was previously dyed so I don’t know what effect that has but is was a golden brown before hence me buying this so it would come out similar I hoped. Great product but be careful with your colour choice, go a shade ot 2 lighter I’d say 🙂

This product nice to use, looked dark on application but most colours do, rinsed, conditioned and blow dried hair and my medium blonde hair is now a chestnut brown colour! Wish I’d read the reviews as other customers have had the same experience. How can you advertise this product as medium caramel blonde- it’s a coppery chestnut medium/ dark brown. Not happy!

As you can see from the pictures, I put the dreaded bleach on my hair about 12 weeks ago, bad idea…
anyway the root growth was getting tacky looking and was in dire need of getting rid of it!
After reading the reviews I was a bit sceptical, so I did do a patch test to be on the safe side this time, which I would recommend, as soon as I put the colour on it started changing almost instantly, I didn’t do the roots just the bleach part, brushed through and in less than 10 minutes could see an instant change, I decided to rinse it off before it got too dark!
The colour is amazing so natural looking and absolutely over the moon!
I was totally impressed by the content of the product, you’re getting so much for your money and it smells amazing and super soft..
wouldn’t hesitate to buy this again!
